Samuel Luke Beatty is an artist who works across traditional and digital illustration, creating prints, artist books, and embroidery works. His practice uses graphic narratives and autobiographical storytelling to explore intimate realities of being transgender.
His comics are an intimate look into his trans experience, sharing vulnerabilities about body image, childhood memories, of gender, socialisation, and navigating the world as a trans person. His work offers alternate forms of queer and trans representation to other gender explorers on similar journeys.
Samuel currently lives and works in Sydney, on Bidjigal Land, NSW.
