Late Night Literature: #NSFW

“I go ooh ooh, you go ah ah,” – The Veronicas, “Untouched”

From tender to tantalising, funny to forthright, sweaty to sweet, sex writing runs a gamut of style, genre, voice and purpose. In an evening of decidedly and deliciously queer erotica readings, these artists tease and taunt, tearing apart the concepts of writing about sex, romance and human connections.

Laura McPhee-Browne

Laura McPhee-Browne is a writer, social worker, and counsellor living in Melbourne, on unceded Wurundjeri land. Her debut novel, CHERRY BEACH, was published by Text Publishing in February 2020, and was shortlisted for the Christina Stead Prize for Fiction and the UTS Glenda Adams Award for New Writing as part of the 2021 NSW Premier’s Literary Awards.

Jinghua Qian

Jinghua Qian is a writer, poet, critic, and with Liz Crash, co-creator of Underfoot, a series of virtual multimedia tours uncovering the secret histories of Footscray. Eir work has appeared in The Saturday Paper, The Guardian, Melbourne Writers’ Festival, and 3CR Community Radio.

Emily is a young single mother with connections in the sex work industry and lots of emotional intelligence

Brodie Turner is a writer, performer, and consent advocate, living in the world as a trans woman, currently on stolen Wurundjeri country.
